Cell15 is the brainchild of Robert Scott Richardson. In 2011, Robert had decided he wanted to write the progressive rock style that he loved. Raised on the great progressive rock of the past, his love for “King Crimson”, “Gentle Giant”, “Yes”, “Genesis” and “Pink Floyd” influenced this musical decision. Twenty years of recovery had given him the subject matter, the advantage of owning his own recording studio gave him the place to work, and Cell15 was born. As a songwriter and performer of classic rock bands such as Boston, Journey, Styx, and Kansas, Richardson has also worked incorporate some of those American styles as well into Cell15's music. Two studio albums later, and performances at ProgStock and RoSfest, have had Andrew Colyer as a guest artist and collaborator.
Cell15's critically acclaimed debut album, Chapter One, was described as "Pink Floyd meets Kansas in a cutting-edge progressive rock concept album". In 2017, Robert Richardson asked Andrew Colyer to join as an album guest and live performer for the follow-up release, 2018's River Utopia. Driving music, thought provoking and powerful. If you love classic and progressive rock bands such as Boston, Journey, Styx, or Genesis, you will likely enjoy this album! We invite you to ride the "River Utopia"!
